Hepatitis is the medical term used to describe inflammation of the liver. There are lots of causes of hepatitis and some of them are more well-known than others.

Some people think autoimmune hepatitis is the same as other types of hepatitis, such alcohol related hepatitis or viral hepatitis. However, you cannot catch autoimmune hepatitis and it is not related to drinking alcohol.
